Nuland: US to discuss new anti-Russian sanctions with EU by Fri
WASHINGTON, Mar 5 (PRIME) -- The U.S. will discuss additional sanctions against Russia with Europe later this week, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs Victoria Nuland said late Wednesday in her speech to the Congress.
Earlier on Wednesday, U.S. President Barack Obama prolonged the existing anti-Russian sanctions for another year because Russia still poses threat to the national security and foreign policies of the U.S.
Europe is ready to proceed with more sanctions if the Ukrainian truce agreed in Minsk does not hold, a spokesman for Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel said earlier.
